I'm super proud to say that Maddie is my daughter, and as such I can vouch for her many years of working part-time and during school breaks as a caregiver at the local daycare center, and for independent 'babysitting' jobs, for a wide range of ages of infants, toddlers, and small children, over the last 10 years or so. I believe that, by the time she had left for University of Delaware in the Fall of 2015 to pursue her interest in neuroscience, she was managing whole 'classrooms' of kids at the daycare center. Maddie graduated early from University and recently completed (was evacuated from due to COVID) her 2-year mission with the U.S. PeaceCorps in Guinea, West Africa, were she was living and working in a small rural village, teaching children of all ages about science, while also trying to delicately promote positive change regarding women's and children's rights within the regional culture.
