A few weeks ago I reached out to Madeline to see if she was available for an evening to watch my two boys. I was so delighted when she mentioned she lives very close by, she was not available for this occasion due to prior personal obligations but mentioned to reach out again if I ever needed someone. Fast forward I reached out recently and rearranged my plans for the night to accommodate a start time that would work for her, because I was so happy to have someone so close by. All was confirmed. The morning of plan to watch the boys I received a message that she woke up with a cough (no mention of needing to cancel) I assumed she meant that she needed to cancel due to this, so wished her to feel better. Did not receive a response. Thankfully I was able to rebook a different sitter but it did feel like it was very poor communication and truthfully that she did not want the babysitting opportunity which is fine; just be honest. I will not be reaching out again. When looking for care I do look for reliability and did not feel that is presented. Perhaps with other families she might work out better. Just wanted to share our experience.
