About Mackenzie

Hi, I'm Kenzie! My career began right out of high school, when I earned my CNA license and moved straight into geriatric and memory care. A few years in, I went on to get my medication technician license, which let me take on more responsibility and only deepened my passion for this kind of work. I spent five years in that field, until the physical demands of lifting patients day after day caught up with me, and I had to find something that could accommodate what my body could handle. That's what led me to IKEA's childcare center, where I quickly realized how much the skills from memory care translated to working with kids - the parallels were honestly astounding. Caring for children came naturally, because in so many ways I'd already spent years doing essentially the same thing: caring for and protecting vulnerable people who are still learning how to navigate this confusing thing we call living and life.
