About Mackenzie

Hi! My name is Mackenzie. I recently moved to New Haven after graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Neuroscience and Physiology and minors in medical Spanish and Sociology. My biggest passion in life is Neurodegenerative disease and Intellectual diability care/research. I currently work full time in Alzheimer's disease research at Yale, and I am looking for caregiving or babysitting work in the evenings and on weekends. I have about six years of hands-on caregiving and healthcare experience. I began working as a CNA at 16 and have since worked in memory care, skilled nursing, neurological rehabilitation, hospice and palliative care, and inpatient psychiatric care. My background in neuroscience has also given me a strong understanding of child development, cognition, behavior, neurological conditions, and developmental disabilities. My favorite aspect of caregiving is learning from my patients and creating real friendships with them.
