About Lynnette

Experience: 10 yrs

I do more than care giving. I am a Senior Advocate/ Family Advocate. I realize that it's not just the Senior that is on this journey-- it's the entire family. I do an assessment for my clients and set up a care plan. I can help to keep the care plan within the budget by dealing with health care and insurance providers. I help to maintain senior independence for as long as possible. If a caregiver is what you are looking for and you want consistency look no further. I can provide you with caregivers that go above and beyond what is expected. They show up when they say they will and they outperform many agency caregivers. I can provide expert advise, clear analysis and sound recommendations based on my years of experience advocating for seniors. My fee is more than a regular caregiver because I offer so much more.

Our family consisted of six siblings, each leading busy lives while doing our best to support our aging parents. What we didn't realize was how little we knew about the community, state, and federal resources that were available to help them. We became frustrated with one another, often thinking, "You should know," while also feeling frustrated with a system we assumed would naturally guide our parents through this stage of life. Our father worked hard his entire life, and we believed that advocates from the community or state would somehow appear at our parents' door to help us navigate this difficult journey. That never happened. At a time when all we wanted was to spend meaningful moments with our parents, we instead found ourselves overwhelmed by paperwork, appointments, financial concerns, and unanswered questions. Research consistently shows that engaging older adults in conversation, reminiscing about the past, and creating new memories together stimulates the brain, helping to maintain cognitive function and mental sharpness. Looking back, I often wonder how different our parents' experience might have been if they had an advocate to provide guidance, reassurance, and support. Instead of my father repeatedly asking, "Did you pay this bill?" or "Are you sure I have enough money?" he could have spent more time simply enjoying his family. Without an advocate, our time together was consumed by managing healthcare, navigating complicated systems, and completing endless paperwork. Our children and grandchildren lost valuable opportunities to build meaningful relationships with their grandparents. Research also tells us that relationships between grandparents and grandchildren provide invaluable life lessons, foster mutual respect, strengthen family identity, and help reduce ageism. Sadly, our great-grandchildren often felt intimidated by their grandparents' physical frailty. An advocate could have served as the bridge—helping every generation understand the importance of intergenerational connection while allowing families to focus on what truly matters: being together. Although grief is an inevitable part of life's journey, compassionate advocacy can provide knowledge, comfort, wisdom, and resources that help families navigate the transition with confidence and peace. My sister, Ms. Lynnette, became our parents' advocate by default. As our family processed each new challenge, she faced the daily reality of locating services, finding answers, and overcoming barriers. When someone told her "no," she found another way. She opened doors that seemed permanently closed and did whatever was ethically and professionally necessary to ensure our parents received the care, dignity, and support they deserved. She often said, "You would think someone would do this to help families." That simple statement became a calling. I have watched Ms. Lynnette advocate tirelessly for our mother and father with integrity, compassion, perseverance, and unwavering love. Through that experience, God placed within her a passion for serving older adults and their families—a passion rooted in the very support our own family never had. Today, that passion has become her mission. Ms. Lynnette understands that families naturally want to care for the people they love. However, that love is often interrupted by the overwhelming task of locating financial assistance, community resources, healthcare services, and navigating complex systems. Family time is limited and precious. It should be spent sharing stories, creating memories, offering companionship, and celebrating life—not consumed by paperwork, phone calls, and endless appointments. Her mission is to improve the quality of life for older adults and their families by providing knowledgeable, compassionate advocacy, personalized guidance, and expert assistance. She believes no family should have to face this journey alone, and every family deserves an advocate who brings clarity, hope, and peace of mind during life's most challenging transitions. If you see yourself in this story, please contact Ms Lynnette and she and her team can become your advocate. Dr. Luanne
