About Lydia

I firmly believe in the saying "It takes a village to raise a child". My colllege studies, which included child development, psychology, and anthropology, opened my eyes to how the modern nuclear family unit is a very new cultural norm and makes child rearing in the modern day extra challenging. I want to provide that extra support and set of hands (and eyes and ears!) for parents and their offspring. I have extensive childcare experience as a nanny, babysitter, camp counselor, and riding instructor. One of the most important things I've learned are how to follow the parents' lead in managing each child's unique traits. My strengths include being a dynamic learner and ability to pick up on a households rhythms and routines. I am extremely patient and am not afraid to have a sense of humor about things, but I am extremely firm when it comes to safety, health, and household rules. My best childcare skills are probably inventing games and bedtime stories and truly loving the job.
