I consider myself a savvy commuter around the city. I'm always looking for places to take the kids in my care. Education is always a priority for me so I definitely encourage reading and activities that enhance a Childs need for learning. Often times the speech therapist would ask me to help her with exercises and incorporating them in my every day interaction with the child. The needed progress was finally met and he eventually started speaking. This among many other experiences in many jobs has been the reasons of why I love what I do. Lucy cared for our son from the time he was about 8 months old until nearly his first birthday, and we absolutely loved having her as part of our village. She is warm, reliable, engaging, and incredibly patient with babies. One of the things we appreciated most was how genuinely present she was with our son. She was always singing, laughing, talking with him, and finding ways to keep him engaged throughout the day. It was clear she truly enjoyed spending time with him. Lucy was also very intentional about supporting his development. She paid close attention to the milestones he was working on and found ways to encourage and practice new skills through play and everyday activities. She was great about getting him outside for walks, taking him to activities, play dates, etc and he always had so much fun. We loved working with Lucy and would happily recommend her to any family looking for a caring, dependable, and engaged caregiver.
