About Luke

Hi, my name is Luke. I'm a Duke University student studying English and Economics with a minor in Education, and I offer one-on-one tutoring for students from elementary school through college. I work with students in reading, writing, English, economics, math, study skills, test preparation, and college application essays. My approach is patient and student-centered. I like to begin with the assignment, class expectation, test section, or writing goal in front of us, then identify the specific skill that needs attention. From there, I focus on clear explanation and guided practice so the student can build stronger understanding and confidence. I have experience through Schoolhouse. world, independent tutoring, peer review work, and summer volunteer teaching at Far Hills Country Day School. Whether I'm helping a student organize an essay, improve reading comprehension, solve math problems, or prepare for a test, my goal is to make learning feel manageable and productive.
