My name is Lukas, and I've been working with children and adults with disabilities of all types since I was 13. My experience ranges from students with OCD, ADHD, ADD, Asperger's, high functioning Autism, and neuromuscular physical disabilities. The experience that gave me the most fulfillment and where I felt the most effective was working in a special education classroom for K-4 graders for 5 months. I'm passionate about working with children with disabilities of all types because I know what it feels like to not fit in and be understood by the people who you want to understand you the most, and I think I'm talented at communicating with this population of children largely because of this. It truly makes me happy to help children have autonomy over their thoughts, emotions and bodies.
