About Lucy

Hi! My name is Lucy and I am a current student at the University of Iowa double majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication and Communication Studies with a minor in Media Management. I've spent several years teaching swim lessons and working as a lifeguard so safety is always my top priority. I am CPR, AED, and First Aid certified through the American Red Cross (valid through 2027). As a swim instructor, I've worked with kids of all ages and skill levels, 6 months old adult, helping them build confidence while keeping things fun. I've also managed and supervised staff at a city pool, which strengthened my leadership, patience, and problem solving skills. I am also an older sister of two younger brothers, so caring for kids has always been a big part of my life! I love planning fun activities, staying active, helping with homework, and creating a safe and supportive environment where kids feel comfortable and cared for.
