About Lucy

I graduated from Barnard College in 2023 and have been living in Brooklyn and nannying for the past three years-and worked in childcare for a decade prior as a babysitter, tutor, performing arts camp counselor, and synagogue classroom aide. I have worked with children as young as 8 months and as old as 12 years, but I have a special affection for toddlers. As a writer raised by two child psychotherapists, I've fostered an attention to language development and love getting to bond with a kid as their imaginative and linguistic faculties are exploding from ages 1. 5-3! I click particularly well with silly, creative kids, and parents who know that holding firm boundaries with their children does not mean undercutting affectionate and playful parenting. I see myself as a caregiver who balances enriching, hands-on play with opportunities for independent growth and problem-solving. I also have experience working with school-aged children with ADHD, autism, and sensory challenges.
