I'm already tired of the corporate hustle in the medical field. I really just want to be able to help those in need. In 1999 I graduated from the Red Cross Nursing Assistant Program. I worked briefly in a SNF Dementia Unit in Bradenton, Fl. It was here that I saw just how under-staffed these types of facilities can be and how it affects patient care. I quickly became frustrated and never became state certified. In Jan 2006 I decided to return to school at Ridge Career Center for their Massage Therapy program. I became state licensed in December 2006. Here I learned relaxation techniques, aromatherapy, and kinesiology. After school I quickly became employed by a pain management specialist in Sebring, Fl. Here I worked with patients in chronic pain and I loved being able to help people feel better. Unfortunately in October 2013 my hands gave out on me and I was diagnosed with severe carpal tunnel. After bi-lateral release surgeries, with not much success, I was informed my career as a LMT was over. In January of 2014 I returned back to Ridge Career Center for training as a Patient Care Technician. I refreshed my skills as a CNA, learned phlebotomy skills and also EKG training. I am now a state certified CNA 297305. And NHA certified in Patient Care Technician. I am also certified in Basic Life Support, First Aid, Home Health Aide. I have taken additional classes in De-escalation Techniques, Alzheimer's Disease & Related Disorders. Also awarded the Director Quality Award in 2006 and 2014 by my classmates at Ridge Career. I am very passionate about giving quality care to those in need. I look forward to meeting with you and sharing my work portfolio with you. It includes all certifications, references and awards. I'm currently employed at a local hospital as a CNA. But once again it's understaffed. I'm hoping there is enough need in our community that I may be able to say goodbye to the corporate hustle for good. Maybe we can enjoy the outdoors together, and I can tell you about my two wonderful teens!
