About Lucille

Lucille (Lulu) joined our caregiver team on 8/30/2024 to replace a caregiver that had been released. Lulu provides care for my 94 year-old mom who passed away yesterday (7/20/2026), while Lulu was there with me. Lulu asked me to write this letter to help her acquire work as a caregiver in the future. Lulu worked 4 days (continuously / live-in) a week including the weekend, and her counterpart worked 3 days during the week. We also had a third “sometimes” caregiver that fills in when there is a schedule conflict that our two primary caregivers can’t resolve. Lulu has always been very easy for me to work with. She worked with our other caregivers very well, often flexing each other’s schedules to accommodate each other’s needs. My mom’s house is in Palos Verdes Estates, and I live about an hour’s drive away, in Huntington Beach. The caregivers have been very important in keeping me informed about my mom’s condition. I am an only child and am pretty involved in ensuring that my mom is happy and that her house is well maintained. I visit Mom weekly and call her every night. Lulu keeps me informed with text messages, phone calls, and pictures. I always feel like I know exactly what’s going on with my mom. This is a very important attribute in a caregiver – she communicates very well, just the right amount, and understands that her role is not just to support my mom, but me as well. During Lulu’s time with us, my mom’s condition evolved. Initially she needed help with meals, medications, transportation, companionship, and light housework. Mom was ambulatory and Lulu took her to various places in her car, including doctor’s appointments. Lulu loves holidays and she always decorated the house for my mom and also took care of quite a few plants and brought fresh flowers to the house regularly – which she paid for herself. Because many of the holidays are celebrated on weekends, Lulu was with my mom at our annual Christmas family gatherings at the house. She fit right in and was essentially another member of the family. My mom repeatedly commented on what an exceptional caregiver Lulu was. She really enjoyed the times when Lulu was there with her, and they became very good friends. My mom’s condition gradually deteriorated, and Lulu seamlessly evolved her role to fit the needs of my mom. Lulu’s years of experience treating similar patients to my mom was very helpful in treating wounds and bed sores. Her disposition is outstanding, using a good balance of tact, assertiveness, and compassion to be very attentive and effective in her tasks. She is very smart, calm, and is a quick learner. She needed very little training and was in fact very instructive to our other caregivers. Lulu is very tech savvy and took charge of ordering supplies and items on behalf of my mom and carefully coordinating the purchases and expenses with me so I could reimburse her. She made excellent suggestions of what would help the situation, then ordered it. I have complete faith and trust in Lulu regarding these matters. Lulu has been an exemplary caregiver for our family and is a very high quality, good natured person. She has the ideal skills and attitude for a caregiver. I highly recommend her for any caregiving needs you may have. Please treat her with respect; she is a real gem. _Jim
