I have a degree in early childhood education and I am also a Nationally certified Cued Language Translator for Deaf and hard of hearing individuals. I have worked at ISD 196 in Minnesota as student support and PCA for children with severe to profound physical and mental impairments as well as mild to moderately impaired. My daughter is a personal care assistant to a 21-year-old mentally impaired vibrant young girl who I had done overnight respite care for and we love her like a daughter. I was also a coach for a Special Olympics equestrian team, "The Hastings Sharks". It is such a gift for me to work with special needs children, they bring such joy to me and appreciate my silly sense of humor. I just can't get enough, I just feel this is what God put me on this earth to do. To serve this population, it comes easy to me and does not feel like a job but a wonderful opportunity to meet these wonderful people.

While she was only with us for about a year, Luanne was one of the best things to happen to our family. She did more than just care for our young son with special needs, she loved him as if he was her own. She greatly assisted with his medical treatments and was an integral member of his care team. She would schedule doctor appointments and attend if we were unable. She participated in all therapy sessions and would implement the exercises into his daily routine. She assisted around the house without being asked to help us and daily went above and beyond what was asked of her. Any family would be blessed to have her work with them.
