About Lossavi

Our active and social father was diagnosed with late stage pancreatic cancer in August. Lossavi, "Oli", joined us in early September and was an instrumental caregiver in providing tremendous grace and compassion. Oli cared for Dad Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun overnights from 9:00p to 9:00a. Oli supported Dad through his crushing loss of independence and eventual mobility, and allowed him to keep his dignity and privacy. We were blessed to have a team of three caregivers that Dad truly respected and he so enjoyed Oli's bright mind in particular. They shared stories, particularly conversations about history, and Dad would often relay them to us the next day following his and Oli's middle of the night discussions. Oli provided Dad with exceptional care to include meal prep, medication management, safe positioning or location change, personal care, clothing change and bathing including horrible week long bouts with diarrhea, discussion about pain management and simple grace. Oli extended this support to all of us who were by Dad's side and he entered Dad's home every night with a gentle and warm grin, and an immediate sense of comfort and professionalism. When another caregiver had to unexpectedly ask for time off, Oli was so gracious in adding or shifting to a daytime shift to allow coverage for all. Oli is an exceptional CNA and Dad and our family were so blessed to have him in our home and at Dad's side. Dad passed away this weekend and our journey, albeit very difficult, would not have been as comfortable or special without Oli. Thank you forever Oli for giving us the gift of your time and skills, and heart.
