I am currently working in a house, taking care of a special needs and handicapped adult. She is in declining health and will needs to go into a nursing home this month. I was going to college to work with special needs children and I am 3 classes away from graduating but life threw me off track for a bit. I have such a soft spot and all the patience in the world for these special people. I also have a special needs 19-year-old daughter and a dad in nursing home with Alzheimer's, so care taking comes very naturally for me. This is my passion in life. I am not looking for live-in, but as many hours as possible. I am currently working 52.5 hours weekly and loving it! I have also at two different times, cared for elderly with household duties, doctor visits, medicines, cooking, laundry, etc. What I have no experience with, would love to learn. I have experience with bipolar, ODD, ADHD, sensory processing disorder, seizures, arthritis, bathing the clients, brushing hair, taking them out, or just staying indoors. Whatever the family wants me to do. I now have a job working with a special needs young man I met through here. If you would like just an occasional caregiver, feel free to contact me.
