About Lorinda

I grew up with a Shetland Sheepdog, and Mom made sure I learned basic dog training. Plenty of dog care and baby-sitting in high school and college. I worked at a pet store for 3 years after college. I was a ferret parent for 23 years. I have kept freshwater fish, reptiles, and amphibians. I became the proud dog mom of rescue Border Collie mix Leeloo in 2016. She lived and traveled with me for nearly 8 years. In 2021 I adopted Lucy the Shih Tzu for my Mom. Lucy has joined my Mom after 4. 5 wonderful years with me. I volunteered at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago for 10 years, assisting with water quality testing. I also volunteered for the Western North Carolina Nature Center, caring for reptiles and amphibians as well as water quality testing. I believe in positive reinforcement and communication. I am unable to work with cats due to severe allergies. I'd describe my personality as authentic, kind, positive. In my spare time, I like to see films, see live music, hike, bird-watching.
