Experience: 10 yrs
Have been working with seniors and their families over 10 years. It began years ago when my grandfather passed leaving my grandmother alone but able to do ANYTHING but drive. Her neighbors ( mostly widowed) were in the same position. I wanted them to keep their daily schedules.. shopping, visiting friends, appts. ( hair, dr, luncheons etc.). It not only made them comfortable and happy, it put a smile on my face too! Fast forward, after my beloved grandmother passed, I moved to the shore looking for the same experiences with Seniors. I joined this site MANY years ago. I have since have worked with the same clients as prior, but mostly with Dementia clients and their families. Working on schedules and keeping them in their home where they can continue to feel safe, comfortable and in close contact with family and friends has been rewarding on so many levels.
