About Lisa

I have tutored my own children (who are now grown and doing quite well), as well as the children of friends. I have tutored professionally with great success. I've worked with several children with learning how to read, grammar, helping them to understand what they are reading, and how to make that the most important thing they get out of reading a book. This helps them to not only understand what they are reading, the context, but to understand characters, plots and how to convey this information to be able to write a report with accuracy and imagination. My own children were reading before they started school, and did very well up and past the college level. I enjoy working with children that have problems with understanding how something works, or those who have difficulty paying attention. I have taken several classes in working with dyslexic children. I am also interested in caregiving for young children or babies, on an occasional basis, my home or yours. Pets are loved at home.
