April 15, 2014. Re: Reference Letter for Lisa T. To whom it may concern: We are pleased to write this letter of recommendation for Lisa T. We have known Lisa for over 13 years. Lisa was the nanny for our two children (a girl and a boy) when they were young (2000 - 2007) and has continued to babysit and stay close to our family as a friend. Lisa is a wonderful caretaker and teacher. Based on our personal experiences over many years, I would whole-heartedly recommend hiring Lisa. Some of her many strengths include the following: * Caring, gentle, and calm. Lisa is kind and calm by nature. She does not lose her temper even when dealing with toddler tantrums! Her gentle way is very effective with children (and adults!). * Positive, supportive, and encouraging. In all the years that I've known Lisa and heard her interact with my children and her own, I've never heard her speak negatively. She is a joyful person and that comes across when she is with kids. * Creative and well-prepared. In her nanny role, Lisa planned many fun activities (outings, crafts, etc.) and followed through on her plans. She taught our kids lots by exposing them to a variety of activities. She always had a plan for the week and/or day including fun themes and activities. Much of the art that we still have is art our kids created with Lisa! * Trustworthy and reliable. Lisa is always on time for work. She has a wonderful work ethic, good judgment and is extremely trustworthy. * Communicates well. When we first hired Lisa and our kids were newborn to toddler age, we asked her to complete a daily report of our kids' schedules. She created a reporting sheet and completed it with lots of details. As our kids got older, she communicated with them at an age-appropriate level and has always communicated clearly with us. Bottom line, Lisa is the kind of teacher that I would want my kids to have. I'm grateful that she was their nanny for many years and is still an important person in their lives. My kids really know that Lisa cares about them and, because she is such a wonderful person, they really care about her too.
