I've got experience working with elementary and middle school students with learning and behavioral disabilities in the Cobb and Gwinnett County school systems in Georgia. Although my undergraduate degree is in journalism and not education, I was selected to participate in a special cohort program offered through Georgia State University in Atlanta, and paid for through the Georgia Hope Scholarship Program, to attend school to receive my master's of science in interrelated special education. During my time as a student, I was awarded a provisional teaching certification that allowed me to teach while attending school. I have a special place in my heart for children with all kinds of special needs and am capable and willing to learn more about any specific disability as needed. I would enjoy working with any age individual, including adults.
