About Lisa

I worked in a assisted living establishment while attending college, summers and holidays as a nursing assistant. While struggling with a 3 year illness in Florida, I helped to care for my Dad who had cancer. We were able to keep him at home comfortably. My experience during that time included using a lift to transport, driving to doctor appoints with use of a wheel chair and a walker, cleaning equipment and overseeing Oxygen mask and unit, bathing, replacing bandages, assisting with self hygiene cooking, encouraging him to eat, encouraging with Faith and humor, listening and just being still when needed. Patience and a sense of humor and understanding how hard and frustrating illness and the aging process can be. Cooking for our 5 children over the past 25 years helped to be creative, with meal preparation, sneaking in nutrients when necessary, yet flavorful and appealing. Caring for others and encouraging them to live the best life possible is priceless.
