About Lisa

Hello. I have a BA in Visual Arts- Graphic Design. I also have my Master's in Education with a Reading Specialization. I have worked with children for 18 years, and I've been in the public schools for 17 years. I have worked with regular education students as well as ESL students, ADHD, autistic, and other special needs students. I have a love of teaching and compassion and patience for children. I enjoy working with them and watching them learn and achieve success. My tutoring methods include testing the child to see at what level he or she is currently. Then, I would establish a plan for how to improve the child's abilities and skills in a specific subject. For reading comprehension, phonics, and word recognition. I have specific techniques and activities that can be done to improve overall reading achievement. I can also assist with homework as well as in the subject of art, such as drawing or art history as well as computer skills and study skills.
