Hi! I'm Linda - mom turned Master's level special education teacher (20 years ago) turned educational consultant, private tutor, and ESA vendor. I have seen (both personally and professionally) the difference 1:1 attention, intervention, and specialized instruction can make in a student's academic and social-emotional progress. I'd describe my personality as patient, helpful and compassionate. I first started tutoring part-time in 2017. I became an ESA approved vendor in 2024. In my spare time, I like to read, cook, and spend time with my family. One thing I would like families to know about me is I became a special education teacher as a result of having a child with autism. I understand both sides of the home-school connection and deeply believe in the power of mutual respect and appreciation to strengthen that bond. My skills include Orton-Gillingham method for reading/writing intervention, positive behavior supports, and executive functions coaching (organizational skills).
As a licensed therapist, I have had the privilege of referring individuals with reading challenges and special education needs to Linda, and I recommend her with complete confidence. Many people underestimate the emotional impact of reading difficulties. Over time, academic struggles can lead to shame, anxiety, low self-esteem, and even traumatic experiences that affect a person's willingness to learn. That's why it is so important to work with an educator who understands not only how to teach, but also how to create emotional safety. Linda is truly a trauma-informed educator. She combines exceptional knowledge and skill with genuine compassion, patience, and encouragement. She has a remarkable ability to meet each learner where they are, helping them build confidence while making learning engaging and enjoyable. Her professionalism is evident in everything she does, and her students benefit from an approach that honors both their academic and emotional needs. I am incredibly grateful to have Linda as a trusted referral resource. I wholeheartedly recommend her to any family seeking an educator who is highly skilled, deeply caring, and committed to helping students succeed in a way that fosters both competence and confidence.
