I'd describe my personality as empathetic, optimistic and compassionate I like caring for seniors because I miss my own parents and feel more fulfilled in a job with a sense of purpose. I'm looking for a job that may offer housing, but most importantly, helps me make a difference in someone's life. I started caring for seniors when my coworker's mother needed full-time attention (due to advanced Alzheimer's). In my spare time, I like to jog, bike ride, garden, cook, read, do puzzles, listen to inspirational speakers, attend live music events, do crafts and creative projects. One thing you should know about me is my background: I am a retired school teacher and have some experience with Autistic students. I also have experience as a Patient Care Coordinator and then Administrator, for a group of mental health clinics. My skills include excellent communication w/ emphasis on perceptive listening, attention to detail & organization, physical agility, creative problem solving.
Linda has been such a great help with my father with dementia. She has so much patience with him and he loves having her around. It is so great to have someone I can trust that is dependable to help me out as his caregiver when I need to run errands or have plans for the day. She is terrific! Highly recommend.
