About Lily

I've chosen to pursue a career in childcare simply because... I love kids! In my future, I hope to either adopt children of my own, or foster many children in need of love and support. The kids I work with truly are my little friends. As a nanny, I act with the intention of building nervous system regulation, fostering independence, and encouraging empathy + critical thinking skills in children. I think a lot about the children I work with in the context of the adults they'll grow to be, and the internal experiences they're presently undergoing. At such impressionable ages, so much of the grown-up that child will become is being built by the adults around them, and they aren't even aware of it! I keep my actions aligned with these intentions by practicing authorative childcare, child-centered educational styles, and handling disciplinary/learning moments in ways that are most aligned with the current state of a child's nervous system.
