About Lily

While I do not have professional elder care experience, I do have much lived experience caring for someone with disabilities and helping as they aged. My father had Multiple Sclerosis for all my life and was a wheelchair user. I assisted him daily with his care and needs as I grew up. This looked like making meals, helping him get dressed, helping with tasks like brushing his teeth, combing his hair, applying lotion, and more. I helped him maneuver his wheelchair before he transitioned into an automatic chair, and also assisted in making spaces more accessible for him to move through. Living with someone with different abilities and specific needs gave me an awareness of ableism in our world, and helped me to address the lack of accessibility.
