About Leslie

I have a passion for giving students the support they need to thrive and succeed in school and life. I currently work as an elementary substitute teacher in the Madison Elementary School District. I have a current Arizona Substitute Teaching Credential. Before early retirement I held my Arizona Teaching Credential and had my AZ Special Education Credential in Learning Disabilities, grades K-12. I've worked as a special education and general education teacher at grade levels ranging from 1st grade to 8th. I've taught at various grade levels and subjects, both with children who need extra support, to those with learning disabilities and developmental delays. I have extensive experience in the subject areas of reading, writing, and social studies. I've published several magazine articles and two novels, so I have a passion for writing. Along with this comes a love of reading. I love tutoring students in both the basic reading skills but also in the higher levels of reading comprehension.
