About Leslie

Ever since I was a child, I have loved older people because I was an only child who grew up surrounded by elders. For five years, I took care of my Mother who was ill with heart disease, leukemia, lymphoma and ultimately a brain tumor, 24/7 and I also took care of my Aunt who had Parkinson Disease. I enjoy being a companion for elders, in conversation, reading to the sick, doing crafts, playing cards, watching movies together, or if the patient is able, going shopping or to cultural events, but I have had many years of experience with medication management, record keeping for Dr's. appointments, driving for appointments and treatment, food prep, bill paying, showering, dressing, and personal care as well. I am very well educated; I am a Painter and children's book Author and Writing Tutor for teens, who is trustworthy, companionable, friendly and warm with a positive attitude and kind nature so older people seem to like being around me because I genuinely care for them.
