About Leslie

I am a recently retired teacher with more than 25 years of experience working with children of different ages, abilities, and learning styles. I especially enjoy one-on-one learning and helping children build confidence and feel successful. I am patient, dependable, encouraging, and skilled at adapting instruction, establishing routines, and breaking schoolwork into manageable steps. I was born deaf, which has given me a personal understanding of navigating the world with a disability and has strengthened my patience and appreciation for individual differences. I am looking for an opportunity where I can use my teaching experience to support a child in a calm, caring environment. I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual and finding the approach that helps them learn, grow, and feel valued for exactly who they are.
