I spent 3 years caring for a woman with early dementia. I found a serenity and calm within myself that made this incredibly rewarding. I lost my dad in 2010. He suffered with Alzheimer's the last year of his life and I was his primary caregiver. In 2015 I worked for an older couple who were both recovering from medical issues. She had a stroke and I assisted her with her physical therapy, speech therapy and daily routine. We found a good balance and she was doing very well. An unrelated issue caused them to move out of state.
