I grew up with a brother who has Asperger's. I worked for the Department of Special Needs in South Carolina for over a year as a direct support caregiver. I volunteered with the nonverbal and low communication level individuals at a special needs daycare in Columbia, South Carolina for a year. I have also worked with the most wonderful boy who had cerebral palsy and autism this year. I was a natural born caregiver, but those with special needs are the ones who spark my passion!
