I'd describe my personality as compassionate, outgoing, and sincere. I like tutoring because I love working with kids! I'm looking for a job where I can work with kids, who need help in reading. I have a Masters Degree in Reading Education, and 30 years' teaching experience. I've been an educator for 30 years- working with children from PK-5th, providing reading/writing/math support. I have taught children with learning disabilities & non-English speaking students. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family, walk my dog, hike in the mountains, and read. I'm proficient with a variety of research based reading techniques/programs. I believe building a positive relationship with children, is vital to their success. My skills include: teaching children (of all ages) the strategies necessary to become accurate/fluent readers, providing tools for comprehension of any text, and giving explicit instruction on writing everything from single letters correctly, to entire papers.
