When I volunteered at the Rise School of Houston, an inclusive preschool, I immediately feel in love and knew what I wanted to do - be a special education teacher! Since then, I have completed a Bachelor's in Special Education, which included classroom experiences ranging from Life Skills classrooms from K-12 to resource and autism support in a middle school. Throughout my coursework and classroom experience I have only become more passionate about pedagogy and advocacy as it relates to children with disabilities, and have loved watching my students progress and grow during the school year. I think it will be interesting to care for these kiddos in a new context and will help me to be a better teacher during the school year!
