I'd describe my personality as Friendly, Caring and Professional. I like caring for seniors because they often cannot care for themselves and, are dependent upon caregivers like myself to give them the best care possible. I'm looking for a job that gives me the schedule flexibility, location, and compensation I deserve as a caregiver. I started caring for seniors when I was 18 years old. In my spare time, I like to read and listen to music. One thing you should know about me is that I am a very caring and compassionate caregiver and overall person. I treat everyone like they are my family. My skills include Activities of Daily Living care, Driving, and most importantly, CPR.
Mrs. Ledonna (LeDonna) is an absolute angel. Not only does she have the skills and knowledge to care for others, especially the elderly, she has the desire, passion, commitment and a heart of gold. She possesses the willingness to commit herself totally to all persons (doctor’s, family and friends) involved in the treatment and healing process. LeDonna cared for my 84 year old mother who suffered a debilitating fall and required 24 hour care for the first six months prior to her passing within a year. At an in-home setting, LeDonna assisted in her feedings, bathing, dressing and grooming, she ensured medications were taken on time and correct dosages, lifting, turning and assisting with some in-home physical therapy or simple exercises. In addition, LeDonna provided appropriate social interaction and companionship as she progressively suffered from dementia. LeDonna was a constant in her life and care, and my mom looked forward to her presence daily. Often in her fragile state asking “where is LeDonna”. She was beyond reliable, and trustworthy and most often cared for my mother, day or night without any oversight. I was completely satisfied with her skills, passion, and genuine desire to connect with my mother as family and not as a patient. After approximately 6 months of home care, and her condition worsened she was admitted to a nursing facility. However, LeDonna never ceased in her heartfelt commitment to my mother. She frequently visited the facility and unofficially monitored my mother’s care. She continued to make sure my mom was comfortable in all aspects of her residency. She was family. I could not have managed her care without LeDonna. Her time and attention was not only healing to my mother but a consolating resource to my entire family as well.
