About Leanne

Hi! I just wrapped up my first year of teaching-- I taught first grade at Lincoln Elementary in Vallejo. This year I am moving down to Kindergarten! I have past experience teaching small groups and working with students in special education for an entire school year at Chabot Elementary in Oakland, experience caring for children of all ages at a family shelter, and have experience working at summer camps and babysitting! I absolutely love working with kids. The most important thing to me when working with kids is having mutual respect and understanding for each other, and teaching how to be compassionate, caring, and empathetic through modeling those values in how I conduct myself. I can be very silly, energetic, and fun -- but I know from managing a classroom the importance of setting expectations, boundaries, and being firm when needed. I will follow whatever approach/rules/suggestions you need me to!
