About Leah

Empowering students to reach their full potential is at the heart of my teaching practice. As a Certified teacher with a graduate degree, I have taught in elementary, middle, and ninth grade. I set classroom teaching aside to homeschool my own four children, and I have taught in our community co-op for 8 years, helping students master a variety of subjects from English to Math to Study Skills. My approach focuses on teaching students how to learn, encouraging them to ask questions and discover the "how" behind a concept. I adapt my methods by observing students' unique styles, using visual aids and hands-on activities to keep lessons engaging. By breaking complex problems into manageable steps and celebrating "aha!" moments, I help build student confidence and academic independence. Whether we meet at a library, school, or online, I look forward to helping your student take ownership of education and celebrate success.
