About Leah

I am a former certified teacher with a graduate degree in curriculum and instruction. I have taught in elementary, middle, and high schools, and I have also maintained a heavy volunteer teaching in our church programs with students of all ages. I set classroom teaching aside to homeschool my own four children, who are learning and mastering well, and I have taught in our community co-op for 8 years, helping students master a variety of subjects from English to Math to Study Skills. My approach has always focused on getting to know my students and finding what methods work with their unique styles. From that, my philosophy of teaching has always been to teach students HOW to learn and to take ownership of their work, encouraging them to ask questions to master a concept.
