Through my training as a teacher at Moore College of Art & Design I took classes on Behavioral Sciences and learned about emotional and behavioral disorders such as depression, ADD and ADHD, as well as autism, Down syndrome, and physical disabilities. This education included teaching a Special Needs Artist Workshop where I had the blessing to work with children ages 8-17 with various special needs. Along with these experiences I also have an intimate knowledge of autism in particular as I have 2 cousins diagnosed as autistic. Through these experiences I realized my passion for working with children with special needs; I can think of nothing more fulfilling to do with my life. I hope to return to Moore College to obtain my Master's in Art Education with an emphasis in special populations.
