About Leah

I am an experienced nanny and NYS certified educator for children from birth to grade six. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood and Elementary Education. My graduate studies focus on bilingual education and Literacy. Academics is my passion; however, I enjoy I enjoy many beautiful things. I enjoy singing, photography, dancing, visual arts, nature walks, spending time with animals and I own a cat. Strategies which I have found to be most successful when working with children is understanding what kids to believe are their strengths and weaknesses; even at the age of 2. It is also important to establish a culture of high expectations through goal setting. Goal setting can be exciting and carried out at the infant level. For example, through dramatic play one can set a goal to open a book or pick up all the toys and pillows from the floor by the end of the day.
