About Laysa

Hello everyone, my name is Laysa! I am currently a 3rd year Spanish teacher. I teach both middle and high school level students. During my time in college I was a Spanish tutor as well which lead me to being a teacher now. I have a passion for my language and culture and enjoy working with teens. I always hated doing the same routine as a kid, so I now emphasize on making learning fun through hands on games and activities. My teaching philosophy is always being a life long learner and trying new things. Demonstrating to teens there's always something new to learn even as an adult! I am always looking for ways to meet my kids where they are at. Whether they are advanced and need enriching activities or are still struggling and need new "outside the box" teaching methods. I'm willing to take the extra step to get my students to surpass their potential. Outside of teaching, I love to hike with my dog and visit new coffee shops :)
