About Layla

Hi! I am a Raleigh native and I'm a preschool teacher for ages 2-3. I take a child-centered approach with play-based learning. I want to meet the child where they're at and make learning & life fun! I focus on skills to communicate, problem solve, and regulate their emotions. I really enjoy dance and music too! Experience: •Early Childhood Educator Infants to 5 years old -expertise in different activities to support them in their physical, social, emotional development •Nanny of 3 boys last summer Ages 5, 8, 12 and the oldest two had autism -focused on routines, transporting to speech & occupational therapy, and then practicing therapy exercises Ages 5 to 10 & children/adults with disabilities ranging from 5 to 21 years old. -responsible for large groups, strong communication skills and safety protocols, gained a variety of skills to meet the different needs of children and their disabilities
