About Layla

I am a Certified Nursing Assistant with hands-on experience working primarily on a dementia unit, where I provide compassionate, patient-centered care to residents with cognitive impairment. I work night shifts, which has strengthened my ability to remain calm, attentive, and responsive during quieter hours when residents may experience increased confusion, anxiety, or restlessness. I have experience working in a high-demand environment with a 1:42 aide-to-patient ratio, as well as providing dedicated one-on-one care, allowing me to adapt to both fast-paced and highly individualized care settings. I have been certified and continuously employed since August 2025 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford, where I assist with activities of daily living, safety monitoring, comfort care, and emotional support while maintaining dignity and respect for every individual.
