About Lavannia

Hi! My name is Lavannia, and I am a pediatric dental resident with nearly 10 years of tutoring experience. As the oldest of four siblings, I have always enjoyed helping younger children learn, build confidence, and stay organized. I also have prior babysitting experience, and my training in pediatric dentistry has strengthened my ability to communicate with children of different ages, personalities, learning styles, and comfort levels. I earned my bachelor's degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Business Economics from CUNY Hunter College and my DDS from NYU College of Dentistry. Since joining Care in 2017, I have worked with elementary, middle, and high school students, including children with special needs. I have experience with SAT/AP science prep, homework help, Regents, Spanish, English, reading, writing, math, chemistry, history, and more. I am patient, dependable, organized, and punctual, and I strive to help students become confident, independent learners :)
