About Laurie

Empowering students to find joy in discovery is at the heart of my teaching practice. With 10 years of experience as a Certified Teacher, I specialize in helping elementary and middle school students excel in English, Science, and test preparation. My approach centers on building confidence rather than rote memorization. I assess your student's unique learning style through active observation, tailoring my methods--whether through visual aids, hands-on activities, or discussions--to suit their needs. By breaking complex problems into manageable steps and connecting lessons to real-world interests, I keep students engaged and motivated. I prioritize regular communication with parents to ensure we are aligned in supporting your child's growth. I am happy to meet at your home, the library, or online to help your student thrive. Seeing a student's confidence soar as they master a new skill is the greatest reward I could ask for.
