About Laurie

I'd describe my personality as engaging, animated, driven I like tutoring because I love kids, and I love witnessing successes, nurturing confidence. I'm looking for a job that enables me to continue to flourish and grow, always, and to make a positive impact on people I help. I started tutoring when I became a public school educator. I've worked with many students from diverse backgrounds. I've worked with and facilitated student learning in Special Ed, Day Treatment, juvenile confinement, alternative education. In my spare time, I like to garden (outside and inside), walk my dog, play with my cats, meet with friends, watch movies, listen to music, cook, entertain, go shopping, go to flea markets, antique stores and visit museums, go to the ocean... I'm very concerned about kids' futures. I treat people respectfully and I have the ability to create positive working relationships. My skills include holding student attention, reciprocal learning, authentic approach to learning.
