About Laurie

I am a retired Special Education Teacher and I'm new to the Overland Park area. I just recently moved here to be near my children. I moved here from Orange, CA where I had lived with my elderly parents. Both are still active in their working field but both have medical problems ranging from COPD, Emphysema, Sciatica, Skin Cancer, and Kidney Dialysis. Both are very picky eaters and therefore extremely under weight. Each day is a new one which we deal with depending on their state of mind (agreeable or non agreeable). I feel a compassion to help them, not for what they've done for me, but due to their walk in life at this time in their life. I was hired by Seniors Helping Seniors in the Orange County area, and had a Care Aid Registry out there. I moved out here prior to working for them. I have compassion for Seniors. I myself am 61 years of age. I get around well. I'm healthy. I have a positive attitude and I respect the privacy of others. I try to encourage and motivate.
