A little bit about me and my journey . I started babysitting at an early age. My mom is a pediatric nurse and always wanted to follow in her footsteps in caring for children. My parents lived in a big community and I ended up watching over 20 families who I still keep in contact with some kids that I started watching when they were young or graduating college and it's been such a joy to see them grow and be a part of their lives. I worked in human resources for a few years, but decided watching children was what I was meant to do. I've mainly watched kids from newborn to 5 years old. Before my last family I was a live in nanny for a family and traveled with them. They had a 2-year-old and newborn. I currently have been working for different families until I find the right long-term fit and still do overnights for my previous work family. My type of nanny style is creating a calm environment centered around art, reading, exploring the outdoors, music, laughter and much more.

Lauren R. has taken care of my special needs daughter and her older brother for 8 years. She started as a mother's helper when she was 13 and quickly became our #1 Sitter! She handles medical emergencies with the utmost care and concern. She is generous, loving and engaging. She is a safe driver. She will take your children to parks, movies or tutoring. Lauren loves children. She willingly sits on the floor and plays with the kids under her supervision. There is no dropping kids in front of TV when Lauren is in charge. She will help them complete homework as well. Lauren is also a great cook. She can prepare a meal and will clean up afterwards. My daughter specifically is at risk for drowning. Lauren is the only sitter I would let bathe her or take her to the pool. In Charlottesville Lauren has built a client base of 28 children within a dozen or so families. Her move to Lynchburg created a vacuum for families here. We miss her dearly! If given the opportunity, you will be fortunate to have Lauren caring for your kiddos!!
