About Lauren

I am currently a special education teacher in a local school district and am looking for some opportunities outside of school hours, especially during the summer. I have provided care in the evenings and overnights for mentally/physically challenged kids needing assistance in their home, including those with cerebral palsy, blindness, Downs Syndrome, autism spectrum, epilepsy, and various other conditions. My experience includes help with medication, bathing, continence issues/toileting, food prep, errands, and most importantly, being a good companion. I strive to treat anyone in my care with dignity and respect, like I would want for my own family In my daily teaching career it is my goal to help students achieve their highest level of independence while treating them as I would anyone else, with kindness and patience. CDL certified with a new car, CPR and first aid trained, among many specialty trainings over the years. Happy to provide referrals if you think I might be a good fit!
