With a Bachelor's Degree in psychology, my first job out of college was working in a residential facility for children with special needs. In the five years working as a Child Care Counselor, I helped children with ADD, ADHD, OCD, ODD, AS, TS, and a variety of other mental health diagnoses. As a public school teacher of many years, I was responsible for modifying lessons and instructional practices for children with a variety of special needs. As a Nanny/House Manager and Private Tutor, I worked with a family where all four children were diagnosed with ADD/ADHD and other diagnoses. All these children have struggles and as a happy person with a vast skill set, I have been able to provide these children with activities that give them meaning, joy and a sense of accomplishment. I love to see their excitement about learning new things and see a boost in their confidance.
