About Lauren

I'd describe my personality as energetic, dependable, and nurturing. I like working with kids because I love enjoy entering their world! Every child sees the world differently, and I find it rewarding to learn alongside them, support them, and be a positive influence to them. My experience with kids started in high school. I was paired with an elementary student with an IDD, and weekly I would go to their school to hang out and build a relationship. I also was president of my school's Best Buddies chapter, working to promote inclusion school wide. I have continued working with kids as a substitute teacher at a middle school level. In my spare time, I like to be outside and moving! Staying active is a big piece of my life, I enjoy hiking, going to the beach, and snowboarding. I also have my creative side, which includes sewing, reading, and making jewelry! My skills include promoting independence, being adaptable, and building real connections!
